Breaking Boundaries at SEMA: Jazmin Allen and Girls Love Cars on the Future of Women in Automotive

-

By Jasmine Allen

As the doors opened on day one of SEMA 2024, an exhilarating vibe filled the air, proving once again that the automotive industry is not only driven by horsepower but by passion and a shared love for innovation. This year, I’m here with Girls Love Cars, a platform dedicated to amplifying women’s voices in the automotive world, and we’re making our mark louder and prouder than ever.

Walking through the bustling aisles and displays, it’s clear that the face of the automotive industry is changing. Women have always been a part of this world, yet now, more than ever, we’re pushing boundaries, from the garages to the boardrooms, from the track to the showroom floor. As I spoke with women from every corner of the industry—designers, engineers, custom car builders, and influencers—it was impossible not to feel inspired by their journeys, each one a story of dedication and drive.

Our mission at Girls Love Cars goes beyond just highlighting female creators and innovators. We’re here to spark a movement, to show young girls everywhere that if they dream of building or customizing cars, designing their own parts, or even running their own automotive business, they can. We aim to empower the next generation, breaking stereotypes one set of keys at a time.

Throughout the week, we’ll be hosting talks, panels, and meet-and-greets with some of the most inspiring women in the field. From hands-on workshops that teach custom painting techniques to live Q&As with female founders and influencers, Girls Love Cars is making sure everyone can see the talent, grit, and expertise women bring to this industry.

This year’s SEMA feels like a turning point. It’s a place where tradition meets transformation, and where women like us, who live and breathe cars, are driving change. So here’s to a week of horsepower, heart, and breaking through glass ceilings. Stay tuned for more updates from SEMA 2024 as Girls Love Cars fuels the future of women in the automotive world.
